I would like to add to Dr. Parisi's response to Dr. Godar's comment. It is quite
correct to state that the exposure received by the person inside a car or in a glass or
plastic enclosure has been neglected in the previous risk assessment of skin cancers. As
pointed out by Dr. Parisi, the Robertson-Berger meter does not have sufficient sensitivity
for measuring the exposure in these environments. A spectroradiometer will have to be used
for measuring UVA, but it cannot be used to assess personal exposure to humans.
