Abstract

Cells and enzymes of thermophilic microorganisms can possess unique features and can offer undoubted advantages under biotechnological and enzymological viewpoints, for applications in the field of biocatalysis. This article is meant to give an overview of principal examples of application of glycosidases from thermophilic organisms, such as Sulfolobus solfataricus, Thermus thermophilus, Pyrococcus furiosus and Caldocellum saccharolyticum, for the synthesis of different glycosides useful in chemical, biological and technological studies.
